Div Com Kashmir directs for meticulous execution of plans for seamless Nasha Mukt J&K Padyatra | KNO

Srinagar, Apr 30 (KNO): In preparation for the upcoming Nasha Mukt J&K Padyatra scheduled for May 3, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting to review arrangements laying strong emphasis on precision, coordination, and seamless execution. The meeting was attended by senior officials, including the DIG Central Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Commissioner SMC, Director Information & Public Relations, Director Health Services, SSP Traffic, and heads of various departments such as School Education, Higher Education, Transport, Culture, Hospitality & Protocol, Tribal Affairs, and other key stakeholders. During the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner stressed the importance of meticulous planning and effective inter-departmental coordination to ensure the smooth conduct of the padyatra and associated events. He directed all concerned departments to formally invite stakeholders and special guests in advance. On the occasion, the Div Com gave special emphasis to arrangements at the Football Stadium, the designated venue for the flag-off ceremony besides arrangements enroute and at culmination point. Officials were instructed for installation of Pandals, ensure adequate seating facilities for VVIPs, dignitaries, and participants. He also instructed that participants must reach the venue before 7:30 AM for timely commencement of the event. Regarding transportation facility, designated nodal officer was tasked with developing a comprehensive plan for the movement of students and participants, ensuring sufficient transport availability on designated stations. The Information Department was assigned the responsibility of enhancing the event’s outreach and visibility through the installation of a Public Address System (PAS), preparation of a theme-based video, display of an anti-drug pledge on digital screens, and the creation of thematic flags and banners. To amplify public engagement, the Divisional Commissioner also directed the formation of a human chain by students from the venue up to Poloview. The Deputy Commissioner Srinagar was instructed to ensure the availability of essential services along the entire route of the padyatra. The Cultural Department was tasked with organizing performances, including songs and thematic presentations, within a stipulated timeframe. Meanwhile, the Hospitality & Protocol Department was directed to distribute refreshments for students and participants in advance while for VVIPs, and other dignitaries at the venue. Security and crowd management responsibilities were entrusted to the Police Department, which will also oversee the deployment of a police band to support the event. The Divisional Commissioner reiterated that the padyatra is a significant initiative aimed at promoting a drug-free Jammu and Kashmir and called for comprehensive efforts from all departments to ensure its success—(KNO)
